A few phone photos from the weekend. We spent the weekend with my parents and sister at Eagle Crest in Redmond, Oregon. The fire near Sisters left the air smoky, ash falling from the sky, the sunrises and sunsets a coppery red. The deer seemed especially tame this year; the little one in the first photo came right up to me and put her nose on my phone as I took her picture. It was great to see my family (my sister Lisa is pictured above) and go bike riding, take walks and pictures down in the canyon by the Deschutes, go swimming, and play games. My folks made some delicious meals for us, bringing lots of tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, and cantaloupe from their garden.
This September trip is something we look forward to every year. It's a winding down of sorts. A wonderful end to summer.
