Last weekend at the Oregon coast.

Thanksgiving evening in Eagle Creek, Oregon, where we spent the afternoon with my husband's aunt.  I hope you all had a wonderful day with those you love.

it's november...

This week has brought heavy rain and wind.  I love stormy weather.  It's exciting and I just want to be out in it ... to see what it's doing but mostly just to feel it and feel a part of it.  This morning brought sun and color and calm back to us...

just look

It's mid November now, and as I sit at my desk each day looking out the window into the back yard, I see the cycle of life slowly changing the appearance of things.  The golds and yellows of just a week or two ago are turning into browns.  The plants and trees once brilliant green are still beautiful, just different in texture and color now.  The grass, long dead from the summer sun, is once again thriving.  A healthy population of ladybug larvae turning into ladybugs occupies a post on our front porch.  Best of all, little birds have returned to the back yard.

Whatever your circumstances are, wherever you are, there's always something to be grateful for, something beautiful to be found.   Just look.
