Tamanawas Falls Trail in the Mt. Hood National Forest. We first hiked part of this trail back in November and have been wanting to go back ever since to get to the falls {which will be in the next post}. I love this word, tamanawas. In looking into its meaning, I found that in Chinook Jargon it means guardian spirit, but also a kind of magic. Definitely.
