A hike with my husband during the week - just the kind of thing we hoped would happen when we moved here. I've been pining pretty hard for the mossy, fern-filled Oregon forest I love so much, but it's incredibly scenic here, too, and we are loving the chance to see some new places on this side of the Cascades. This trail along the south fork of the Walla Walla River not too far over the Oregon border is probably our favorite so far.
Daffodils and tulips are up and trees are budding out, but yesterday brought light snow, reminding us that it is indeed still winter for a bit longer. I find myself wanting to fast-forward to spring ... but why rush? The season we are in is so beautiful. I'm going to appreciate the present.
