We had a low-key weekend. We drove to Gearhart and had lunch at a favorite little place we had not been to for years. We decided to go to the South Jetty at Fort Stevens and check out Battery Russell as well. There's just something about Battery Russell that is so fascinating; it pulls you in. It may just look like a crumbling piece of concrete to some folks, but I love the abandoned decay, the colors, the textures, and the ghosts of history past that feel so heavy all around.
