s'more suttle lake

Our two days at Suttle Lake were magical.  We stayed in an adorable tiny cabin.

We watched the sun go down as Husband fished and caught trout.  We made dinner over the campfire and stayed up until the last of the embers burned out.  We walked a dark night trail and came to a bridge where we stayed a while ~ listening to the creek, watching for bats, looking to the sky for falling stars, and feeling the forest breeze and mysterious night sounds wrap around us.  We made late night flashlight trips through the trees to see the moonlight on the lake.  We talked and snuggled in our sleeping bags.

We woke up hungry and excited for the adventures of the new day.  We ate an early morning breakfast on the boat dock, watching the lake come alive as the sun and wind got higher.  We paddled the lake in raft and kayak, soaking up the hot sun and loving the cool water on our bodies.  We hiked a trail around the lake, appreciating the flowers and grasses springing up around the burned-out trees.  We didn't want it to end.  But it did...

We loved every minute.  We came home sunburned, dirty, tired, and wanting to go back as soon as possible.
